The decision which changed my future!!!

It was seven months ago when I finished high school in my country. In that time I didn't know what was the best for my future. I was so confused.

My mother have been here seven years and I didn't see her about two years or so. She wanted that I came to New York with her because maybe here were more possibilities for studying. I didn't know what can I do because if I accept her option, it had be very difficult. To left my family, my friends, and the most important point was that I never left my home before... I was thinking about that for many time, actually two months or so, sometimes I couldn't slept well and I didn't eat anything. Also, in that time I apply for many universities in my country and I passed in some ones.

I felt like a balance. In one hand I had the option to came to New York and in the other one I had to stay in my country. However I choose to came to New York. All my friends and my family told me very good advices to came here because here I could study without preoccupations for my future in Colombia...

Now I'm here and I'm happy because I'm studying English at La Guardia and then I hope I could go to collage to study Medicine because it is my goal!!!

Although, I speak with my family and my friends even and they give me courage to continue my way. Obviously I miss each other, but I will come back soon.

When I have to take a ride by bus I think will I get a seat? One day when I back home after school I went to subway.There was comfortable.I could take a seat.After that I had to take a transfer to bus while it was cold outside and first I had to stand in long line to wait for bus.So I was freezing.The bus driver passed me for free.I don't know why, but nice from him.I could keep my money.Inside the bus was very crowded .I stood on back of the bus.There were two seats, but I couldn't get any one becouse the group of five teens kept that seats.They could to move,but they didn't do that.On the other hand I didn't want to ask them about that seats.They had a fun.So they were laughing and listening to music.While I had to stand with my heavy backpack for fifteen minutes.Also it was difficult for me becouse I'm preagnant.There was hot and difficult to breaf.That people didn't care about me.In my country I never had been in that situation or similar to that.I hope next time i will meet more polite people.

I want to introduce to you my first escape to a disco. When I was 15 years old I felt that I was very adult. I wanted to do everything that adults did. I wanted to smoke cigarettes, to drink alcohol, come back home very late. One day I wanted go to a disco with my friends and to go back home in the morning, but my parents didn’t let mi do it. I made up my mind that I would go to my friend’s because his parents had gone out and he was alone at home. My parents agreed and let me go. I went to a disco and danced all night. At that time I was proud I did it. Right now I’m afraid that I lied to my parents.

My parents have never known about it. Maybe When I will have a child in the future, they will do the same what I did. When my child will ask me if he or she could go to a disco on all night when they will be 15 years old, I’m sure that I won’t let him or her to go.
